Flying to the USA

It was almost a 13 hour flight into LA from Sydney. We flew V Australia on a brand new Boeing 777. Very nice. Everthing was new and pretty comfortable. Theres a little snack bar in the plane where you can stock up on biscuits and chips too so I made a few stops there. The first thing you notice as you fly into LA is how flat the city is. Most of LA is built on a great big basin, so you can see for miles and miles around the city. One thing you notice is the great big freeways that criss cross the city as you can see in the photo.

Another LA feature we experienced was the traffic! Traffic is not something new for people living in Sydney but when you consider there are 5 lane highways going everywhere, you appreciate how much more traffic there is. We landed in rush hour...

The reception we recieved here was great too! There were lots people to meet all the International Convention delegates at LAX airport and they helped look after our bags and gave us snacks and drinks until our bus came to take us to San Diego...and when we got to San Diego at the Escondido Assembly Hall...it was CRAZY! As you can see from the photo below there were hundreds of people there to meet and greet us. Screaming and waving placards around to welcome us. It was like we'd accidentally found ourselves on American Idol :) They truly made us feel welcome.

That welcome at the Assembly hall must've been surreal - and amazingly touching. Glad to hear you two Love birds (haha) are enjoying yourselves... :)
